ELECTRICAL METERS

VOLTMETER:
For measuring the voltage in the electrical power system voltmeter is used, in low voltage system. Voltage is measured directly and in high voltage system through a potential transformer.
AMMETER:
Load current is measured through ammeter only. In AC lower range are directly cab be read through ammeter kept in series. For larger current transformer are used for measuring the current.

In DC power, current is measured through a shunt resistance.
WATTMETER:
For measuring the power consumed by the circuit (any type of feeder) wattmeter is used and the units are in KWH.
TONG TESTER:
In other words it is called as clip-on meter. In this we can measure the current flowing in the circuit in each phase for any unbalance if it is noticed, can be used without breaking the circuit.
AVO METER:
This AVO meter is used for checking the electrical circuits measuring voltage, current resistance and electronic components.
SHUNT RESISTANCE:
In DC circuit current is measured through this shunt resistance.
TRANSDUCER:
They are used to change one varying parameter into other form energy. Like voltage to current to pneumatic signals etc.
